Adoption Fee Changes

At PAWS we primarily rely on donations and the generosity of our community to help keep our shelter running. The adoption fee we charge supplements our donations, and helps us pay for medical costs, such as: microchipping, spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, and medications. Our more desirable animals, such as puppies and kittens, don't have the same problem finding a home as some of our older residents. Having the higher adoption fee for those that find a home quickly gives us the resources to care for our special needs animals. We strive to keep our adoption prices as low as possible, and we are proud that our adoptions are affordable to everyone. However, we will always provide best care possible to our animals, whatever the cost.

As of Wednesday, February 13, 2008, kittens (under 6 months old) adoption fee will raise to $120. The new price will still include a rabies vaccine (if over 3 months), spay/neuter surgery, deworming with Strongid, and at least one FVRCP booster shot. Expect to see more price changes this year as we search for the best way to save as many animals as possible.

If you have any questions about our new prices give us a call, or come by and visit with one of our friendly staff members.

Third Annual Bone Appetit Fundraiser

Lend your support to PAWS Shelter and Humane Society on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Terrace Club in Dripping Springs for the 3rd Annual PAWS Bone Appetit fundraiser. This year, PAWS goes Caribbean with fabulous food prepared by Sibby Barrett of Onion Creek Kitchens at Juniper Hills Farm. Proceeds benefit the planned PAWS shelter in Dripping Springs and the existing shelter in Hays County. As always, the evening promises to be a special one including an elegant meal, live music, live and silent auctions and all for a good cause.

The proceeds from last year's Bone Appetit for PAWS have helped:
- Provide medical treatment to lost and abandoned animals
- Aid in the reduction of pet overpopulation and to provide community education for the mutual benefit of animals and people.
- Fund our Pets in Prison Program.
- Contribute to the planned PAWS Hill Country Campus shelter to be built in Dripping Springs, Texas to further serve the Community's need to house abused, abandoned and neglected animals.

We hope you will join us this year as a sponsor. All you need to do is fill out the sponsorship acceptance form and return it by December 15. If you have any questions, please call me at (512) 894-0756 or e-mail inquiries to boneappetitforpaws@yahoo.com. We look forward to spending the evening of January 26th with you enjoying great food, fine wines, good music, and, a lively silent and live auction. All this, and you are still helping those animals who cannot help themselves.
